EYE ON EBAY

An expensive way to keep cool but you'll be the envy of all your powerpop-loving friends if you own this sizzling tune by the Fans. On Bristol's second finest label, no piece of toast is complete without a Fried Egg record or two, this is as essential as their other single Giving Me That Look In Your Eyes. It earned the seller £74, money well spent.

By 'Bristol's second finest label' I take it you mean Riot City was No.1? ...nah, must be the Subway Organisation, right?

Subway or Sarah, joint first. Which makes Fried Egg third.

I'd unreservedly say Sarah if they had stopped around Sarah 40.

I don't have enough Sarah records to back you up. Definitely Subway for me.

I've have got at least 15 Riot City singles, though the quality of those are mostly suspect. Still, if they had started at RIOT-20 (No Choice) and ended at RIOT-20 (No Choice) we could put Fried Egg further down the list.

er... you seem to be forgetting heartbeat records (& circus & wavelength... I could go on but no-one is listening)

I'm listening, bristolboy.

Heartbeat had its moments. The Letters and Art Objects immediately spring to mind.

"circus records" is best known for the 2nd stingrays 45 & a few others are interesting + a comp lp that has some highlights
