Stereotypes---------It's a record!

Unbelievably a couple of years back this single was available as a buy it now from a usually very clued-up dealer. For how much you ask? £200. Yesterday it sold for £1,020. This is the highest price I've seen paid for a punk single by a fairly anonymous outfit. Legendary it is though and I wonder who shelled out a grand for it. The Stereotypes released this four track 7" on Hinterland, their own label, and it's crude no-nonsense punk but with this artifact it's not about the quality, it's about the scarcity, probably only a hundred pressed. Tracks are Parisian, Telephone Affair, Countdown and Champagne Suicide.

Wasn't me!!!
Have you heard the record? It's decent enough, 'Countdown' is the pick but none of the tracks vary much from the sub-Lurkers formula.

Someone sent me an mp3 some time back but think it went awol when the computer got infected last year. The songs were fairly ordinary. Still if I'd have seen that £200 buy it now I'd have snapped it up. Hoping ebay will be flooded with copies now.

The mp3's of all 4 tracks were on my blog in summer for a few days courtesy of Bernd from lostandfound. Apparently, Dizzy of Detour Records was selling 6 mint copies on behalf of a band member at the time. Don't know who or how much, but I didn't waste his time with an offer. I can email the mp3's if you need them.
